Participants need to register for events so that we have a head count for equipment and supplies necessary for each event. Each event has a cost per person listed under the event.

June Events
Wednesday, June 11th at 5:30 pm we will be having our Father's Day Workshop. The youth will be creating custom leather key chains for their dads. They will make matching wrist bands for themselves. They will be learning the leather embossing technique using leather embossing tools. We will discuss the history and process of leather tanning and processing. Members: $10.00
Nonmembers: $15.00
Wednesday, June 25th at 5:30 pm Butterfly Bonanza! Members will set up a butterfly habitat and make two butterfly and/or dragonfly crafts One from contact paper and jute wire and the other from recycled milk containers. The lifecycle and migration of butterflies will be discussed. Members: $10.00
Nonmembers: $15.00
June 28th at 11 AM Algae Scientist Hike @ Bynan Conservation Area, New Ludlow Road, South Hadley. This is a short hike where our 3rd Rock Kids will learn about the roll algae plays in the environment. We will collect algae in our own algae jars. The kids will watch how light and temperature affect the growth of algae. We will discuss how modern farming plays a role in algae bloom and how it affects the environment. We will discuss the role of oxygen in the algae life cycle ad how it affects pond and lake environments. Members: Free
